AUSTRALIA. The inaugural Australian Airports Association (AAA) Retail & Commercial Forum on 20-21 July will feature a pioneering awards programme that recognises career achievement and industry contribution as well as the key role of customer-facing and back-of-house team members.
Two career achievement/industry contribution awards will be presented, one for the airport commercial management sector and one for concessionaires and commercial operators.
In addition, two team member recognition awards will be presented to recognise ‘above-and-beyond’ contributions made during the pandemic.
Team members have done it the hardest during the pandemic and as a result, the event organisers feel it critical to acknowledge their often-unrecognised contribution to our industry.
The awards will be presented at the Gala Dinner on 20 July and will become an annual feature of the AAA Retail & Commercial Forum.
As reported, the event – a joint endeavour between the Australian Airports Association, The Moodie Davitt Report and The Mercurius Group with Gold Coast Airport as the host – is being held at the QT Hotel on the Gold Coast on 20-21 July. Registration is open now. Just 200 places are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Forum is a celebration of survival and resilience for the airport commercial sector as well as an opportunity for airports of all sizes to better understand how to improve non-aeronautical revenues.
