ACT and The Swatch Group reveal new Hour Passion boutique at Beijing Airport

The Hour Passion boutique is said to be the “largest and most professional of its kind in China”

CHINA. Beijing Capital Airport Commercial and Trading Co (ACT) has opened a new Hour Passion watch boutique at Beijing Airport, in partnership with The Swatch Group’s Tech-Airport division.

The store, which opened on Monday this week, was described as “the largest and most professional of its kind in China” by ACT, Beijing Airport’s commercial trading arm.

ACT Market Development Director Foster Fu told The Moodie Report: “The first phase includes all of The Swatch Group’s brands except Omega, which will be opened (as a separate boutique) in a second phase right after the Chinese New Year, next month.

“The Swatch Group occupies all of the watches area right after security check,” he added. “Good illumination [helps to] bring passengers into the shop. ACT is confident we will see a high-speed increase in sales.”

Strong branding outside and illumination within will help draw passengers to the store, says ACT

ACT had previously opened Hour Passion stores at Chongqing and Wuhan airports, which are managed by Beijing Airports group.

Since introducing a strong line-up of international brands at Beijing Capital International Airport’s spectacular Terminal 3, ACT has been progressively following a similar policy in a number of locations controlled by Beijing Airport.
