Adani-Flemingo subsidiary Le Marché Duty Free opens Truck Shop at Eurotunnel’s French terminal

FRANCE. Le Marché Duty Free, a subsidiary of Mumbai Travel Retail Private Limited (MTRPL), has today (9 August) opened a 75sq m Truck Shop at Eurotunnel’s French terminal in Coquelles (near Calais).

MTRPL is a joint venture between Adani Airport Holdings of India and Flemingo Travel Retail.

As reported, earlier this year Le Marché Duty-Free secured an agreement to manage duty-free operations at Coquelles.

The Le Marché Duty Free operation at Coquelles covers approximately 800sq m of duty-free space within the Passenger Terminal building.

It has been successfully trading for three months now, bringing a distinctive travel retail proposition to cross-channel customers.

The new Truck Shop, located in the freight terminal, is designed to serve the duty-free needs of HGV drivers.

It allows freight drivers to take advantage of a wide range of duty- and tax-free products in a convenient, dedicated store.

Le Marché Duty Free, which has been running the main passenger shop at Coquelles since 24 April, has now expanded its duty-free proposition to include the Truck Shop

Eurotunnel Chief Commercial Officer Deborah Merrens remarked: “The reintroduction of duty-free services for passengers travelling to the UK has created a substantial opportunity to redesign engagement with passengers and drive sales growth.

“Our new partnership with MTRPL is a great opportunity to provide a whole new customer experience through our site in Coquelles, France.

“We are very excited for the future of the business and are looking forward to working with them in the years ahead.”

Le Marché Duty Free plans to begin shop-fitting the main passenger shop in coming months. Eurotunnel served more than eight million passengers in 2023.
