The Glen Grant Corner at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport features two lit displays presenting the bottles “like gems” |
Gruppo Campari-owned Glen Grant Scotch whisky and leading travel retailer Aelia are staging a promotion at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport during October 2012.
Installed in the Schengen area throughout this month, the Glen Grant Corner is decorated by two lit displays presenting Glen Grant bottles like gems, Gruppo Campari said. Travellers can explore the single malt brand’s heritage through numerous images of the distillery, its gardens, and the Speyside area.
Through a tutorial from Master Distiller Dennis Malcolm, a whisky expert who has been devoted to the Glen Grant distillery for the last 50 years, travellers can match tasting notes with complimentary samples of each expression available, learning about Glen Grant’s taste and innovative production methods.
Campari International Global Travel Retail Director Matthijs Kramer said: “Thanks to our fruitful co-operation with Aelia on the Glen Grant Corner at Charles de Gaulle, travellers have a unique opportunity to immerse themselves into the fascinating world of Glen Grant.
“We are proud to share with travellers the unique distilling methods that were developed over a century ago by the iconic James “˜The Major’ Grant that are still used to this day, giving Glen Grant Single Malt whisky its unmistakable light, fresh and floral character.”
During October, travellers purchasing a bottle of Glen Grant 10yo or 16yo at the Corner in Charles de Gaulle will receive Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible as an homage.
Written by whisky authority Jim Murray, the book has become the world’s leading whisky guide. In the 2013 Whisky Bible, which features 4,500 tasting notes, Jim Murray awarded Glen Grant 10yo 95 points, with Glen Grant 16yo scoring 91.5 points.

About Glen Grant
Glen Grant became part of the Gruppo Campari portfolio in 2005. The brand is currently the world’s number five selling single malt whisky and is an Italian market leader. The Glen Grant range includes Major’s Reserve, 10 Year Old, 16 Year Old, 1992 Cellar Reserve and the 170th Anniversary Limited Edition.
Glen Grant was founded 170 years ago in Speyside, Scotland by former smuggling brothers John and James Grant. The smooth taste is the result of the innovative tall slender stills and purifiers James ‘The Major’ Grant, son of founding brother James Grant, introduced over a century ago and that are still used today.
