URUGUAY. Aeropuertos Uruguay is set to inaugurate the modernised Paysandú Tydeo Larre Borges International Airport.
The project completion marks another milestone in the ongoing development of the National System of International Airports (SINAI).

The official opening, scheduled for the week of 16 December, will be attended by Uruguayan President Luis Lacalle Pou, along with key national, departmental and Aeropuertos Uruguay officials.
The company assumed control of Paysandú Airport in February 2023 and rolled out a comprehensive investment and renovation strategy to align the country’s airports with the highest operational safety standards.
The redevelopment included a complete overhaul of the airport infrastructure, new equipment, upgraded lighting and signalling, as well as the construction of a new passenger terminal meeting international operational, safety and service standards, among other improvements.
As part of the SINAI development, Aeropuertos Uruguay has committed to modernising six regional airports in the country, located in Carmelo, Rivera, Salto, Melo, Durazno and Paysandú.
A subsidiary of Corporación América Airports, the company also manages Carrasco and Punta del Este Airports.
To date, the airports in Carmelo, Rivera, Salto and Melo have been completed, with Durazno scheduled for completion in the coming months. ✈
