Agatha Paris to make travel retail debut at Singapore show

Fast-growing French jewellery brand Agatha Paris, part of King Power Group, is making its travel retail show debut at the 2013 TFWA Asia Pacific fair in Singapore as part of an international expansion strategy (Stand number: G23).

Agatha was founded by Michel Quiniou in Paris in 1974. He launched a line of fashion jewellery to “transform cheap into chic”, according to the company. His first boutique featured innovative designs that quickly became popular with trend-setting French women.

In July 2006, Quiniou sold Agatha to King Power Group, which gave the brand the ambition to become an international reference in fashion jewellery. With more than 300 points of sale worldwide, Agatha is now developing its network beyond Europe, through the Asian and Middle East regions, in order to “expand the influence of its heart-warming French style”, the company said.

Every year, Agatha produces Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter collections designed to go hand-in-hand with the best of the fashion world. The brand’s icon is the Scottie dog, inspired by the founder’s Scottish dog, which has become synonymous with Agatha.

Agatha enters a new phase of development

2013 marks a new stage for the company, with an original innovation called AGAT’YOU, a communication campaign featuring its new brand ambassador Alexa Chung, and the brand’s commercial extension to the duty free sector and other new horizons, it said.

Currently, Agatha has listings onboard several international carriers, building awareness of the brand through their respective inflight programmes.

The firm is also targeting airport retailers as the next stage of its development plan and will continue to focus its efforts towards developing its presence in the travel retail channel.

Launching officially this year at the TFWA Asia Pacific show in Singapore, Agatha will be exhibiting its product range and communication materials. The booth will have a range of items on display.

Agatha CEO Maxime Elgue said: “Agatha is very proud to be part of the TFWA club and exhibits for the first time in Singapore. We believe Agatha carries a range of jewellery and watches that fit perfectly into the world of travel retail.

“Besides being sold onboard airlines, Agatha aims to be present in most airport shops in the world to expand its international presence, and develop the sales of its famous Scottie, ceramic line, Paris range, and now AGAT’YOU, supported by a new advertising campaign featuring the fashion icon Alexa Chung, the new Agatha face.”
