USA. Airmall Maryland has opened a British-style pub on the BC Concourse connector at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI Marshall).
The Firkin & Flyer – a 3,712sq ft pub and 1,075sq ft lounge area – offers a “modern take on traditional British pub fare”.
Its menu includes traditional English favourites fish ‘n’ chips, cottage pie and bangers, beans and mash and other appetisers such as burgers, sandwiches, salads, salmon and sirloin steak.
Its bottled and draught beers on tap include ales, lagers, porters and strong IPAs. The Firkin & Flyer design features include a bi-plane on a steel pedestal in the centre of the concourse, bowler hats and plane headlamps for light fixtures, and décor reminiscent of the London Underground.
