Airport Commercial Revenues Study 2012: Available 15 October

Now in its seventh edition, The Airport Commercial Revenues Study offers unique analytical insight into airport commercial revenues

INTERNATIONAL. The eagerly-anticipated 2012 edition of The Airport Commercial Revenues Study, published by The Moodie Report in partnership with The S-A-P Group, will be released on Monday 15 October.

The study is designed to allow airports to benchmark their commercial performance against that of their peers around the world, and to provide an accurate snapshot of the airport retail business today.

The ACRS 2012 features data from airports of all sizes across the world, including details of spend per passenger in a number of commercial sectors, including duty free (and duty paid retail for intra-EU airports), food & beverage, other retail and currency exchange.

The study also analyses details of dwell time and penetration rate, along with commercial management indicators such as concession structure and contract length.

The result is a comprehensive study that offers users valuable, actionable data on today’s airport retail business.

The Moodie Report Research Manager Victoria Bowskill said: “This year’s ACRS builds on the firm foundations laid with last year’s edition. Working once again in close partnership with The S-A-P Group, we have continued to protect the confidentiality of participating airports by ensuring that they cannot be identified alongside commercially sensitive data. This has resulted in a larger sample, making the ACRS 2012 an even more valuable product.

“We are confident that airport company users of the study will be able to benchmark their performance in a meaningful way.”

The S-A-P Group President Bill Matz added: “As airport commercial planning consultants, we are keenly aware of the types of analysis and benchmarking that are most important to ACRS readers. Key data such as sales and income per departing passenger for the major product categories are incorporated, alongside a number of useful management indicators.

“The commercial data in the study has been grouped into categories based on airport location and size, as measured by the number of passenger movements per annum. The aggregation of data in this way has allowed participating airports to share their data on an anonymous basis, which has led to a substantial increase in participation rates from prior editions of the study report. We’re confident that ACRS 2012 is a valuable tool for anyone with an interest in airport commercial revenues.”
