UK. Global airport lounge and travel experience company Airport Dimensions and joint venture partner Swissport have unveiled a new passenger lounge at London Luton Airport. Launched last week (1 June), it will be operated by No1 Lounges under the My Lounge brand.
Airport Dimensions said the 555sq m space will deliver a premium airport lounge experience at an accessible price point. It follows the No1 Lounge opening at the airport last December (read our story here).
With a 135-seat capacity, the lounge is accessible to Priority Pass and Lounge Key cardholders, while others can pre-book on the No1 Lounges website.
The facility overlooks the airport’s main concourse and is inspired by loft-style living. The space offers various options such as family-style layouts, backroom lounge areas, workspaces for solo travellers and large group seating areas.
My Lounge also offers a games area for passengers to play video games or watch television before they fly. There is access to free digital newspapers and magazines in over 60 languages, all available to download via PressReader.
On the food & beverage side, the lounge has an all-day self-service pantry, a pancake machine and a bistro which offers a seasonal menu.
Alcoholic beverages are served from the fully tended bar, which offers premium beers, wines and spirits. Coffees, teas and juices are available from self-service stations.
The Airport Dimensions/Swissport partnership (SwissportALD Holdings) now operates 14 lounges in the UK across Birmingham, London Luton, London Gatwick and London Heathrow airports. Airport Dimensions has 65 airport lounges in its global network.
Airport Dimensions President EMEA & APAC Errol McGlothan said: “The opening of the My Lounge at London Luton bolsters our strategic commitment to both our partnership with Swissport and to the growth of our market-leading network in the UK.
“The My Lounge proposition and the services it provides create a relaxing, laid-back environment for one of the UK’s busiest airports and I’m confident we will provide the high-quality service and operations that travellers deserve.”
No1 Lounges Managing Director Shaun Weston commented: “It’s amazing to see the hard work of the No1 Lounges team come to fruition at London Luton Airport. We’re excited to extend our portfolio of lounges with this addition and to continue our working relationship with London Luton Airport.
“At No1 Lounges, our goal is to both develop a unique and stylish travel experience and we’re confident that the new My Lounge space at the airport will deliver an exceptional guest experience and create memorable travel moments for our guests.”
London Luton Airport Chief Commercial Officer Jonathan Rayner said: “Providing passengers with even greater choice is a cornerstone of London Luton Airport’s responsible growth plans and the opening of this second lounge provides a stylish and relaxing additional space for travellers to enjoy as they pass through the airport.
“This investment from No1 Lounges is the latest in a series of terminal enhancements that we have delivered over recent months, all of which supports the simple, friendly passenger experience we are committed to delivering.
“With LLA’s stunning No1 Lounge already established as a firm favourite with leisure and business travellers, the opening of My Lounge ahead of the summer is perfect timing as it looks set to become an instant, equally popular choice for our passengers.”
