Nicolas Claude is the new Airport International Group CEO

JORDAN. Queen Alia International Airport operator Airport International Group (AIG) has named Nicolas Claude as Chief Executive Officer, effective today (7 January). He has previously served as Chief Operations Officer at AIG.

Claude takes over the CEO role from Kjeld Binger, who will take up a Senior Advisor role to the AIG Board.

Claude has held many executive management positions during a 28-year career within the global airport industry. He most recently served as CEO of the Nuevo Pudahuel concession in Chile, where he was instrumental in directing the expansion of Santiago International Airport.

As COO of AIG between 2010 and 2015, Claude oversaw six departments and some 330 employees. He was responsible for various operations in maintenance; commercial and real estate; information technology and telecommunications; security; and quality and safety functions.

Claude has also served as COO of Grupo Aeroportuario Centro Norte, which operates and manages 13 airports in Mexico. He has also contributed to multiple projects at Aéroports de Paris, including devising planning studies on several French and global airports.

“I am delighted to be returning to Jordan – a country I called home for five years – and to the Airport International Group family with whom I have witnessed some of the most pivotal stages of the Queen Alia International Airport New Terminal project,” Claude said.

“I would like to thank my colleague Kjeld Binger for his exemplary leadership over the past eight years, and I look forward to building on the proud achievements the team has marked since being assigned the project in 2007.

“We have many new plans to implement, milestones to reach and records to break, and I am confident that, with the support of the government of Jordan and the employees, partners and shareholders involved in the project, the sky is the limit. We will continue to work together to reaffirm Queen Alia International Airport’s standing as the kingdom’s prime gateway to the world for the benefit of our passengers and the Jordanian public at large.”
