USA. Francis Wilmore, an architect at Michigan company ASL architecture|design, has been recognised as one of the top young professionals in the retail design community by trade publication design:retail.
Wilmore, age 33, made design:retail magazine’s 40 Under 40 list, which comprises 40 professionals under the age of 40 judged by the publication as the “most promising future leaders” in the retail design industry.
The magazine is considered a leading resource for tracking trends, products and projects that are crafting tomorrow’s most innovative retail environments. Its 40 Under 40 winners are featured in design:retail’s April/May 2017 issue and will be recognised during a ceremony on 22 May in New York.
Wilmore led the team that developed the award-winning design for the Duty Free Americas space at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Terminal E. He also served as project architect for the renovation of Washington Dulles International Airport’s central retail court that includes Mont Blanc, Burberry, Coach, Thomas Pink, L’Occitane, Kiehl’s and Michael Kors.
Founded in 1992 by Brad Williams, ASL specialises in airport-related retail design and has constructed projects in the terminals of more than 15 major international airports. Wilmore manages ASL’s Tulsa, Oklahoma office and has extensive experience with retail design, mixed-use developments, apartments and lofts, office space, and the hospitality and restaurant industries.
