ESTONIA. Norway-based Airport Retail Group (ARG) today takes over the management of duty free shops at Tallinn International Airport, with previous incumbent Baltona exiting the business due to difficulties associated with the COVID-19 crisis. The shops have been closed since January but reopen under ARG management.
Tallinn Airport Head of Business Kaimo Sirak confirmed that “today we are reopening our duty free shops with the new operator ARG”.

Baltona Duty Free won the duty free contract in 2017, with the official opening of new stores in June 2018. These cover a main store of 800sq m with two last-minute shops across a combined 180sq m.
Sirak said that Baltona Duty Free had been a good partner but had been severely affected by the COVID-19 crisis. ARG had bid previously for the duty free space, he said, and takes over today following negotiation about a new contract.
