SOUTH AFRICA. Airports Company South Africa Limited (ACSA) today announced via The Moodie Report a major tender covering duty free and tax free operations at Cape Town, La Mercy (Durban) and O.R. Tambo International (Johannesburg) airports in South Africa.
The current incumbent at all airports is Big Five Duty Free.
The contract term is ten years with a start date of March 2010. All three airports are being offered in a single, collective contract, underlining the scale of the opportunity – especially as the FIFA World Cup (football) takes place in South Africa next June and July.
An advertisement featuring the full details will run in tonight’s edition of The Moodie Report 7 Days and e-Newsletter.
The tender covers both Arrivals and Departures shopping at each of the airports and is focused on core duty free and VAT-free operations – mainly of fragrances, tobacco and alcohol.
