THAILAND. Airports of Thailand (AoT) has recorded a +6.62% rise in international passenger traffic to about 3.91 million for the month of July.
Total passengers for the month (including domestic) amounted to 6.17 million – an increase of +6.92% compared to the previous year.
The figures cover AoT’s entire national airport network, including Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang in Bangkok as well as Phuket, Chiang Mai, Hat Yai and Chiang Rai.
Flagship gateway Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport recorded a rise of +4.81% in international passengers to 3.44 million in July. Including domestic traffic, the total number of passengers at Suvarnabhumi increased by +6.12% to 4.42 million during the month.
Year-to-date results
In the 2012 year to date, international passengers across AoT’s network numbered 27.0 million, representing growth of +8.11% over the same period last year. Total passengers for the January-July period (including domestic) increased by +10.04% to 43.2 million.
The same period saw international passengers at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport registering growth of +7.15% to 23.6 million. Total passengers (including domestic) amounted to 31.8 million, an increase of +13.04%.
