Al Nassma parent company Prime Chocolate is launching a new camel milk chocolate-coated date and pistachio brand called Samha into global travel retail.
Samha translates to beautiful in Arabic. The product features locally-sourced khalas dates, which are stuffed with pistachios, and then coated with camel milk chocolate to offer an “indulgent and pure lifestyle snack”.
The UAE producer of the popular camel milk chocolate brand Al Nassma will feature Samha at the 2019 London Dessert Festival this weekend (17-18 August) before its presentation at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes in October.
As reported, Al Nassma, which is renowned for its use of camel milk and impactful camel-shaped in-store gondolas, recently marked its tenth anniversary in travel retail.
Samha noted that mineral and nutrient-packed dates are regarded as the world’s oldest cultivated fruit, and a staple diet of the UAE. Its new chocolate snack, the brand said, is designed as a “natural treat that ticks all the boxes” and can replace a full lunch or be offered after dinner.
According to Prime Chocolate CRM Executive Hanan Saad, consumers are looking for ‘pure” snacks. “We don’t cut any corners to give them exactly this: A luxurious natural product consisting of just a darker camel milk chocolate, fine dates and crunchy pistachios.”
Samha said its concept offers a ‘no nasties’ snack which is free of any shelf-life enhancers, soy lecithin, artificial aromas or vegetable fats.
Prime Chocolate Chairman Dr Ali Ridha Ali al Hashimi commented: “With Samha we are bringing an extraordinary product to the global supermarket shelves. Based on the local resource camel milk and premium dates from the region, we are proud to offer an authentic piece of our culture to the world of better-for-you snacks.”
Samha camel milk chocolate coated dates will be offered in a 150g gift box in domestic and travel retail markets.
