Aldeasa launches first walk-through concept in Spain

‘The Shop’ store is the first walkthrough concept for AENA and Aldeasa at a Spanish airport

SPAIN. Aldeasa has inaugurated two new stores, “˜The Shop’ and “˜The Express Shop’ at Barcelona Airport’s Terminal 2. The commercial offer is geared towards Easyjet passengers in the airline’s new ‘M’ boarding areas.

The Shop, located in M1 (for Schengen passengers) measures 376sq m and is the first implementation of the walkthrough concept for AENA and Aldeasa in Spanish airports. Aldeasa, which operates a number of walkthrough stores in other countries, confirmed plans to implement the concept at Madrid-Barajas and Alicante airports.

Located in area M0, The Express Shop (for non-Schengen and international passengers) has a surface area of 120sq m.

The shops were designed with special areas for promotions where products will be launched using what Aldeasa said would be “dynamic communication”. The commercial offer is based on the core categories of fragrances, food and tobacco.

In addition, a special area is dedicated to souvenirs under the slogan ‘Thinking Barcelona’, a Sense of Place concept that was successfully implemented in Terminal 1.

Aldeasa said: “The new shops constitute an opportunity to continue adapting to the needs of an airport in continuous development. In order to meet the needs of passengers, Aldeasa will continue to expand its services, offering passengers a unique and exclusive shopping experience to make their time in the airport more enjoyable.”

The new concept will soon be implemented at Madrid and Alicante airports
