The retailer paid tribute to the “effort and excellent work” of its team, which has enabled the company to resume operations in record time in its 310sq m shop in the domestic terminal.
Aldeasa has been operating in Chile since 1995. It has a staff of 197 employees, of which 193 work in the 10 shops which Aldeasa has in Santiago de Chile, and four in the shop in the Concepcion airport.
At present, only the domestic terminal of the Santiago airport is operating, for both domestic and international flights.
Given the damage to the airport, the authorities are evaluating the effects of the earthquake on the structure and fixtures. At the moment the international terminal – where Aldeasa’s main stores are located – is closed as it was the most badly affected.

Thanks to the close collaboration of the operator SCL Terminal Aéreo Santiago S.A. and DGAC (Dirección General de Aviación Civil), as well as the whole team at Aldeasa in Chile, it has been possible to open the Aldeasa store located in the domestic terminal.
Although Aldeasa was able to open the store on the same day that the airport resumed activities, the company said it could not predict when the rest of the shops would be ready to open again.
A team from Aldeasa Head Office in Spain has gone to Chile to help resume operations.
