From top: The new A-Centric, the Citytamer and the Facet 1936, three of the five new models from Alfred Dunhill |
UK. Luxury English brand Alfred Dunhill has introduced a brand new timepiece collection which will be launched globally in April 2005.
The first three of the five new designs were previewed in December 2005, namely the A-Centric, Citytamer and Facet 1936.
Car lover’s watch A-Centric is inspired by Dunhill’s motoring heritage. The revometer calendar, which shows the days of the month and Arabic numerals for the time on the outer bezel, is enhanced by the protective magnifying crystal window. It is powered by a Swiss self-winding mechanical movement.
The modern, rectangular Citytamer watch has a unique, horizontally-split, two-part case held together by top-loading screws. A central, visible gasket ensures it remains watertight to 30m. Each watch has its edition number engraved between the lower lugs. The guilloche dial is available in off-white or black, each with arrow hands and date aperture at three o’clock. The watch is powered by a Swiss self-winding mechanical movement.
The Facet was the Dunhill’s first wristwatch, launched in 1936. The new take on the 1936 model has a wider, contemporary case, slightly flared lugs and softer angles to the signature faceted glass. Housed in an 18ct pink gold case, the watch features an oscillating balance wheel which is visible through a crystal viewing window in the caseback. The Gents Facet 1936 features a Swiss hand-wound mechanical movement. The ladies version, slightly smaller, comes with a quartz movement.
In addition, at last October’s TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes, Alfred Dunhill introduced the Sidecar Amber range of business luggage, a mainly canvas-and-nylon line in black which complements the Sidecar leathergoods collection.
