More affordable fashion brands designed to appeal to the trend-conscious youth audience, including Guess, Storm (pictured) and Ted Baker, have been introduced in a number of locations |
UK. Alpha Airport Shopping is expanding its range of watch brands across its UK stores with the introduction of high-end names such as Versace and Armani, and a series of mid-priced brands.
Alpha Airport Shopping Jewellery and Watches Buyer Helen Boyle said: “Customers are now demanding fashion-focused quality brands at more affordable prices – a trend which has originated on the high street and is now being reflected in airport shopping habits. The new lines will meet the demand for affordable fashion pieces and ensure we have a comprehensive premium offer.”
To accommodate the expansion of its range of accessories, Alpha is bringing in a collection of watches from Versace at a number of stores across the UK.
Distinguished by their geometric patterns, sharp contours and smooth polished surfaces, the watches range from £300 to £1,500, with the majority falling within the £300-£600 price range.
Versace’s lower priced Versus range is expected to be launched in selected stores early next year.
Armani has also been added to the watch range, priced between £84 and £246.
A similarly priced range by Calvin Klein, first launched in Alpha’s Manchester Terminal One and Eurotunnel stores, is due to be rolled out elsewhere over the coming months.
Breil, another classic Italian brand, has been added to the range at Birmingham International and Manchester, priced between £114 and £212.
More affordable fashion brands designed to appeal to the trend-conscious youth audience, including Guess, Storm and Ted Baker, have been introduced in a number of locations and are performing well. Meanwhile, the classic yet affordable Louifrey range, priced between £12.49 and £22.46, has been launched via a special promotion in key stores with great success, said Alpha.
Manchester Airport will be stocking the full range, while a selection will also be available at Birmingham International, Newcastle, Liverpool John Lennon, East Midlands Airport and Eurotunnel.
“Although the new lines have only been in stores for a short time, we are already seeing very strong sales,” Boyle commented. “Louifrey has been performing particularly well, in part due to our special launch promotion in Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester Newcastle and East Midlands, which saw the collection on sale for half the high street retail price on an open sell display.”
