UK. Alpha Flight has agreed a five-year extension to its onboard services concession with Thomas Cook Airlines, effective today (1 November).
The contract will see Alpha continue to supply catering and inflight retail services for Thomas Cook’s flights from the UK and Ireland. Alpha Flight has worked with the airline and its predecessors – Flying Colours and JMC – for a number of years and will continue to supply the airline with passenger meals, drinks and snacks, and its on board shopping range.
Alpha Flight said: “With Alpha’s retail insight, the airline’s onboard retail revenue has increased significantly since the start of the partnership. The most popular products to be purchased by travellers include Bare Essentials make up products and Breo watches. Alpha is also assisting Thomas Cook Airlines with further initiatives in catering and retail.”
Thomas Cook Airlines Managing Director Frank Pullman said: “Thomas Cook Airlines is one of the UK’s premier charter airlines with a deserved reputation for quality and service. We have chosen to partner with Alpha due to their excellent record for quality and service performance. Just as importantly, they have the same objectives we do: to make each and every flight a great holiday experience for our customers.”
Alex Forbes, Alpha’s Business Director for the UK & Ireland Regional Airports, added: “Thomas Cook Airlines is a dynamic and innovative airline and we are absolutely delighted to support them on their journey. We look forward to continuing to offer them a consistently high level of service around our network and helping them to develop their onboard retail and catering services. Alpha is already the UK’s largest provider of inflight retail management services and the renewal of this contract is a great endorsement.”
Thomas Cook Airlines operates a fleet of 44 aircraft from 19 regional airports to more than 50 destinations worldwide.
