Alpha lands BA flight catering deal at Sydney – 01/11/07

AUSTRALIA. Alpha Flight Services Australia has won a three-year contract with British Airways to provide catering for its flights out of Sydney Airport. The new contract begins today and will serve two flights to London that operate daily from Sydney via Bangkok and Singapore, serving almost 500,000 passengers each year.

Alpha Flight Services has a long-established relationship with British Airways at London Gatwick and regional UK bases. British Airways is changing the way menus are developed and Alpha said it would be working with the airline to develop these using their footprints, policies and style guides. The awarding of the contract follows an intensive selection process that included menu presentations and a detailed site inspection.

Alpha CEO Peter Williams welcomed the new contract: “We are delighted to have won this additional contract with British Airways that reinforces our position in Australia. Alpha works with British Airways across our network and has a thorough understanding of the needs of the airline and its passengers.

“We are confident that this new partnership with British Airways will deliver an exceptional experience for the traveller and a premium quality service that will provide differentiation from other airlines.”

Alpha Flight Services has locations at more than 80 airports and provides inflight catering and retail to over 100 airlines worldwide.
