UK. Alpha LSG has opened a £10 million catering facility for London Heathrow that will start serving over 40 airlines from this month. Alpha LSG Board of Directors Chairman Jochen Müller, shareholders and customers attended the official opening of the Premium Kitchen earlier this month.
Scheduled to be fully operational from April, Premium Kitchen will produce 76,500 meals daily and cater for around 24,500 flights annually. The facility has the airport’s only dedicated Halal kitchen, a Japanese and Asian kitchen, Customer Lounge and a Culinary Academy.
Located in The Encompass Centre in Heston, Middlesex, the complex includes a 52,000sq ft production centre and a 124,000sq ft Dynamic Logistics Centre with extra wash capacity and dispatch chillers as well as additional dispatch and unloading bays.

Hospitality specialist Marc Warde is heading up the Premium Kitchen as Director where he is responsible for business development, culinary excellence and all food production. The Culinary Academy is a partnership with UK chefs’ association, the Craft Guild of Chefs, which counts 120 Alpha LSG chefs as members.
In addition, Alpha LSG chefs have been mentored and trained by former Royal chef Chris Barber, who has cooked for The Queen and was the personal chef for Prince Charles for 12 years.

Alpha LSG currently provides catering services from facilities located at 16 airports throughout the UK, including London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
