UK. Alpha Airports Group is introducing a more streamlined board and senior management structure, following a detailed review of organisational effectiveness, .
Chief executive Kevin Abbott will take additional direct responsibility for the Alpha Flight Services businesses in the UK, Eire and mainland Europe. Retail director David King will take direct responsibility for all Alpha’s airport duty free businesses and also its airline retailing business, Alpha Inflight Retail.
As a consequence of this re-organisation, Robert Stephenson’s role as Alpha Airports Group plc director with responsibility for Alpha Flight Services in the UK, Eire and Mainland Europe has been made redundant and he has left the group with immediate effect. The Alpha Board thanked him for his significant contribution to Alpha’s progress and development.
Abbott said: “Having streamlined and refocused our retail business in 2001, we have created a business model that is seen to be successful for our customers, our people and our shareholders. With this re-organisation, we are adopting the same approaches for our Flight Services business.”
