GERMANY. The remodelled Adelholzener Bar featuring strong alpine themes has reopened to passengers in Terminal 2 at Munich Airport. It had been closed for a long period during the pandemic, enabling its renovation.
The bar, which originally opened at the airport nearly 15 years ago, is named after Adelholzener Alpenquellen, Bavaria’s largest mineral spring. The spring is located in the Chiemgau region of Upper Bavaria.
The airport company said the refurbished bar includes modern furniture and bright colours which, combined with a large room divider with six high tables and an illuminated mountain silhouette, convey an alpine feel.
Designer chairs and tables give the guest area a modern look, and all seating areas have been fitted with power outlets as well as USB charging stations.
In addition to Adelholzener mineral water, the bar – which offers airfield views – also stocks regional draft beers as well as non-alcoholic hot and cold drinks.
On the food menu are Bavarian delicacies such as veal sausages, meatloaf and sweet snacks.
Munich Airport Chief Commercial Offer and Chief Security Officer Jan-Henrik Andersson, who is also Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Allresto (the airport’s main F&B operator), said: “The historic Adelholzener brand has been active in Terminal 2 at our airport for almost 15 years. It is a real asset for the airport and its passengers.
“The new design perfectly corresponds with our airport’s Bavarian identity – which is why we are all the more pleased about today’s relaunch after the break due to the pandemic.”
Adelholzener Alpenquellen Managing Director Stefan Hoechter said: “We welcome the guests with an impressive silhouette of the Bavarian Alps, which reflects the origin and home of our natural Adelholzener mineral water.
“With the remodelling, we have succeeded in doing so in an even more impressive way, and we would like to thank Munich Airport and the Allresto team for the long and valuable cooperation.”
