NETHERLANDS. Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is to launch the first phase of its new online web parking pre-booking service using Chauntry Parkspace technology next month.
Schiphol Group has been offering a pre-booking service for its P3 Smart parking for a number of years, but decided in 2008 that it needed a system with more capability, said Chauntry.
According to the firm the Dutch airport group requested a number of functions, including supporting a greater range of parking products, optimising the parking occupancy, providing more channels to market to increase sales and identifying its customers for more effective marketing.
The new system will go live in two phases. The first phase will be a new website for consumers and affiliates which will go live at the end of May selling the full range of car park services and a wider choice of parking products. As well as this increased choice, Schiphol Airport customers will be able to manage their bookings online (i.e. amend or cancel them) for the first time. The new system will also up-sell and cross-sell parking products, thus ensuring Schiphol Group achieves maximum yield, said Chauntry.
The second phase, due for completion in late summer 2009, will offer dedicated B2B interfaces for corporate clients, agents and airlines. This will include the ability to make multiple bookings and will support a range of different payment options including on-account bookings, credit card payments and electronic bank transfer.
Chauntry was awarded the contract after Schiphol Group invited a tender.
