“An excellent shopping environment”: ARI unveils enhanced duty free store at Montréal International Airport

CANADA. The Loop Duty Free Montreal has opened its refurbished US destination duty free store in Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport.

The Loop Duty Free, which is operated by Aer Rianta International (ARI) North America, gave away 1,000 free gifts to travellers on 27 October to mark the occasion.

Performing the ribbon-cutting ceremony (from left to right) were: ARI North America Head of Retail Operations Colin Morgan; Aéroports de Montréal Vice President, Real Estate and Commercial Services Charles Gratton; ARI North America General Manager Jackie McDonagh; and Aéroports de Montréal President and CEO Philippe Rainville

The store now features an extended range of cosmetics and fragrance brands including Tom Ford and Tory Burch. Furniture has also been redesigned to house existing brands such as Chanel, Dior, Armani, Lancôme and Clarins, among others.

New speciality sections have been added to the wine and spirits area of the shop. A new concept wine area called ‘L’amour du vin’ is housed in intricate floor to ceiling wooden shelving designed to be reminiscent of grand wine cellars, ARI North America said.

The store features a selection of whiskies from around the world as well as a number of Canadian choices in the ‘Collection Whisky’ section.

The fashion area has been enhanced with new collections of luggage, handbags and accessories. A highlight is a wall of handbags designed by Montréal-native singer Celine Dion (pictured below). There is also a corner dedicated to local company RUDSAK offering leathergoods and accessories.

“We are delighted to have completed our refurbishment to enhance the passenger experience within Montreal Airport,” said ARI North America General Manager Jackie McDonagh. “What is exceptionally pleasing for us at Aer Rianta International is having brands like RUDSAK and Celine Dion along with our beautiful ‘Canadiana’ section which resonates with Montreal and creates a Sense of Place for our customers.

“Our new and existing beauty brands have the most up to date design specifications which, in turn, create an excellent shopping environment for our passengers.”
