NEW ZEALAND. Leading luxury travel retailer DFS Group has completed the year-long renovation of T Galleria by DFS, Auckland, with an inauguration planned for next month. DFS said the four floors of retail at the city’s Custom House present “an exciting, modern retail experience that combines the world’s most famous luxury brands with an expertly curated selection of local products”.
The store houses collections across DFS’ five pillars of luxury: fashion and accessories, beauty and fragrances, watches and jewellery, wines and spirits and food and gifts. It features more than 200 brands, including 33 that are available exclusively at T Galleria by DFS, Auckland.

DFS Group Region President Asia South Robert Calzadilla said: “At DFS, we pride ourselves on providing our travelling customers with the world’s best international and local brands presented within inspiring and inviting environments. The renovated T Galleria by DFS, Auckland is an exciting and unique duty free shopping experience housed within a beautiful architectural icon, right in the heart of the ‘City of Sails’.”

DFS has operated from the Custom House since 1997. The building originally opened in 1889 as a trading house for import and export business. It is located in the heart of Auckland’s Central Business District on the corner of Customs and Albert Streets, in a prime site to attract tourists and locals.
The renovation has preserved historical elements of the Custom House while modifying the architectural design. The building houses a traditional Heritage Walkway where customers can explore a chronological path that explains the historical significance of the building and maps its transformation from its beginnings until today.
DFS has been investing in upgrading its T Galleria network across Asia Pacific, including Australasia. It inaugurated its renovated Sydney downtown store in April, as reported.
