An “outstanding match”: Underberg and Beer gift tin launches at Cannes

A new gift tin and a revamped Southern Comfort bottle are included in Underberg’s extensive portfolio for the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes (Green Village M70).

The herbal liquor specialist’s limited-edition 2018 Underberg and Beer gift tin continues a concept introduced in 1986. The series centred on Culinary World Tour from 2005 to 2016, and for 2017 Underberg introduced a new Various Occasions series featuring voXXclub.

Underberg said its 2018 presentation underlines the “outstanding match” the brand makes with cold beer. The tin features images of a Bavarian beer festival, hop harvest, beer garden and highlights craft beer.

An Underberg Duty Free & Travel Value Assortment of five 20ml bottles and the Underberg 0.5L case of 25 20ml bottles will also be shown. The case is exclusive to travel retail and includes an Underberg Loyalty Campaign voucher for engraving.

Underberg’s value-added pack is exclusive to travel retail

As the exclusive distributor of Southern Comfort products for Gebr Heinemann stores, Underberg will present new packaging, designed to underline the brand’s New Orleans roots. A value-added pack includes a 1L bottle of Southern Comfort Original, two whisky glasses and two ice cube stones.

Other highlights in Cannes will include Brazilian herbal drink Brasilberg, described as a market leader in the herbal bitter market, and Balearic Island Hierbas brand Túnel.

Túnel Mezcladas (medium dry), 30%abv, is available in a 1L bottle and is said to provide a pure anise taste. Túnel 14 Reserva Familiar, said to be distinguished by its fresher and smoother taste, contains 14 different herbs including rosemary and thyme.

The Asbach offer will include Asbach Fire, a liqueur that is spiced with cinnamon and chili, and luxury product Johann Wolfgang von Goethe Vintage Reserve 1952.

The limited-edition Asbach, dedicated to famous German writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, was created 60 years ago at the Asbach distillery in Rüdesheim. It is based on a 1951 vintage white wine which was distilled using the traditional craft process of double distillation in copper stills.

Each carafe, of which there are only 900, features a unique bottle and cask number and comes with a certificate of authenticity. The carafe is offered with two original Asbach Connoisseur glasses in a box made of wood from the Bavarian Forest.

Back to its roots: Southern Comfort takes on a new look

A travel-friendly edition has been created for travel retail, which includes a voucher for the two Connoisseur glasses instead of them being presented in the box. A 12yo Asbach Spezialbrand will also be featured.

Neuschwansteiner, described as an alternative to vintage wine or high-end Champagne, is also included in the Underberg line-up. Based on a traditional recipe for March beer, and refined through a three-stage brewing process, the spirit has a 6%abv and is presented in a dark brown 75cl Champagne-style bottle.

Riemerschmid comes in new packaging aimed to raise brand awareness

Underberg will also highlight the revamped Riemerschmid range of fruit and bar syrups. New packaging aims to raise brand awareness.

Bison grass vodka Grasovka, sugar cane-distilled spirit Pitú and strawberry-based spirit Xuxu will also be featured by Underberg.
