Anthon Berg presents upscale Nordic look – 02/11/07

Raspberry in Orange Liqueur joins the range of Anthon Berg Marzipan and Fruit chocolates with fruit and spirit fillings

DENMARK. Anthon Berg, part of Danish confectionery company Toms Group, showed off its new, ambitious branding strategy at last week’s TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes.

In a bid to return to its roots and leverage its core competences, the company has hired more people for its brand development department to create exciting new products, according to International Brand Manager Charlotte Prammann.

At TFWA, the company launched a number of products that combine its use of premium ingredients prepared in-house with a fresh design strategy.

“We have always made products equivalent to luxury confectionery, but with our new innovative product releases and redesigns we are definitely reaching towards the high end of the luxury category,” said Executive Vice-President in Sales & Marketing Bo Lundberg.

Observing the brand’s continued growth globally, he continued: “With expansion in Asia, Middle East and the US, we have seen that these markets are in a very positive development. We are present worldwide, and we will reach our overall sales goals thanks to our products, our design as well as a very devoted team.

“We are anticipating much from Anthon Berg in the future – both with regard to new products, designs and not least quality. But more so, we anticipate that our move further upscale will be in sync with the consumers’ requests and aspirations,” added Lundberg.

NEW PRODUCTS SHOWN AT TFWA WORLD EXHIBITION

The Nordic Berries gift box contains 15 pieces of premium 72% chocolate with jam fillings

Nordic Berries

Anthon Berg’s Symphony of Nordic Berries is a new range of exclusive jams made purely from Nordic berries, developed as fillings for the brand’s premium marzipan which contains 67% almonds.

The Nordic Berry Symphony is coated with dark chocolate with a cocoa content of 72% made from selected Ghanaian cocoa beans and created in 8g pieces.

The exclusive packaging is designed in colours unique to the Nordic countries. The box contains five of each of the new flavours; blackberries, blueberries and lingon berries. In total, there are 15 pieces of premium chocolate in three different shapes.

The 120g Nordic Berries gift box will be sold by Anthon Berg stockists.

Raspberry in Orange Liqueur

Anthon Berg is introducing a new flavour, Raspberry in Orange Liqueur, to its famous range of Anthon Berg Marzipan and Fruit chocolates with fruit and spirit fillings.

Raspberry was chosen because the berry is well-known and complements the orange liqueur.

Expected to be in-store at the end of April 2008, the 275g box contains 10 individually wrapped pieces and carries illustrations to appeal to the consumer’s imagination. A 550g box is also available containing 20 pieces.

With the introduction of the new flavour, the Anthon Berg Marzipan and Fruit chocolate range will consist of Plum in Madeira, Cherry in Rum, Strawberry in Champagne, Apricot in Brandy, Grape in Muscat Wine and Raspberry in Orange Liqueur.

The fillings of fruit and spirits are covered by an almond paste and high-quality dark chocolate.
