Anthon Berg takes the wraps off new chocolate liqueur bottle range

Danish chocolate specialist Anthon Berg has extended and revamped its range of bottle-shaped liqueur chocolates.

The new look, and two new presentations, were unveiled at this year’s TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes.

Boxes of 16 and 26 pieces of Chocolate Liqueur Bottles, Chocolate Cocktails and Chocolate Coffee Liqueurs feature the chocolates in ‘hot’ foil in new colours. Packaging includes instructions on how the chocolate bottles should be opened.

“We believe in a strategy of expanding, extending and upgrading our existing proven winner products,” said Anthon Berg Travel Retail Director Peter Dige.

The brand has added new 12-piece presentations with a time theme. Drinks Time includes 12 different spirits and liqueurs; Coffee Breaks contains Irish, French, Cuban and Mexican coffee flavours, and Cocktail Time offers Cosmopolitan, Strawberry Daiquiri, Mojito and Margarita cocktails.

A limited-edition The Liqueur Tin Bottle will be available for one year from April 2017. The bottle contains a fabric pouch of 18 chocolate bottles and is endorsed by a range of spirits brands including Cutty Sark, Jim Beam, Sobieski, Grand Marnier, Drambuie and Camus XO.

“We are seeing every new product launched in our range of liquor-filled chocolate bottles placing itself right on top of sales, and we are confident that this tin bottle will also do that job very well,” said Dige.

“A limited edition urges the consumers to buy today rather than tomorrow,” he added.

Anthon Berg said the tin appeals to the premium gifting market and bears reference to the spirits category in which a secondary placement “would be perfect”.

At Cannes Anthon Berg also highlighted two new lines from Toms’ Pingvin sweets. Penguin-shaped jars contain Snowy Sours or Frosty Sweets fruit-flavoured wine gums, sweet liquorice and marshmallows, and the Pingvin backpack offers a mix of 12 wrapped candy sticks.
