Areas entertains travellers with live Easter concerts

SPAIN. Global travel dining and retail specialist Areas is staging a series of live concerts close to its food & beverage facilities on Spanish motorways, at train stations and in Barcelona Josep Tarradellas-El Prat Airport across the Easter holiday weekend.

Areas observed that after two years of limited Easter holiday travel due to the pandemic, this year is expected to see up to 14.6 million lengthy road trips in Spain over Easter week.

The Areas live music events have already kicked off at motorway service stations in Spain

To entertain road-trippers, the company has organised free live concerts on the Oasis terraces of its Montseny North (highway AP-7 km 117, towards France), Empordà North and South (highway AP-7 km 35, Girona), Mèdol South (highway AP-7 km 237, Tarragona) and Quintanapalla North (highway AP-1 km12, Burgos) service areas. All of the events are being sponsored by Areas beverage partner, Mahou.

The Mahoudrid Botanical Garden, in Madrid’s Atocha station, is among the venues which will see live music performances

Areas will also offer concerts on the terrace of Piscolabis, located in Barcelona El-Prat Airport adjacent to La Place, Starbucks and Burger King. In addition, there are music events planned for its COMO F&B outlet in the Sants train station and in the Mahoudrid Botanical Garden, in Madrid’s Atocha station.

The performances will feature well-known groups and artists including Toni Cayena, Jessica Mellado, Sadie & Fran, Guillem Gené, Eriz & Totum Revolutum, Carla i Jofre, Jofre Bardagí and Kodey Brims. Areas said that they will play different pieces from their repertoires characterised by a great explosion of musical styles such as rumba, rock & roll and funk.

A statement from Areas said: “This year Areas will promote concerts in its outlets to improve customer experience there, encourage drivers to take a break along the road during their vacation to stay safe and entertain and make the wait time more pleasant in train stations and airports.”
