Áreas extends presence at Madrid Barajas Airport with new stores

Adidas opens its latest airport store with partner Ãreas at Madrid Barajas


SPAIN. Leading travel services concessionaire Ãreas has opened eight new outlets at Madrid Barajas Airport. These extend the company’s strong presence at Madrid, where it already operates four retail units plus 51 restaurants.

The new stores, which have created 45 new jobs, are distributed across all of the airport’s terminals.

Among the brands to open is Adidas, which makes its Madrid Airport stand-alone debut with two stores. This brings to four the number of stores that Ãreas manages for the leading sports brand at Spanish airports.

Also new are two Sibarium units (in T1 and T2) and The Sweet Market (T1), featuring a selection of gourmet products as well as sweets respectively.

Other brands include fashion & accessories name Adolfo Dominguez (T2), which has a store presence at Barcelona and Malaga airports, in partnership with Ãreas. Two new stores under the Aïta name (in T1 and T3) feature accessories for women.

Ãreas now operates 483 restaurants and shops in 59 airports worldwide.

Ãreas-owned and/or operated brands include: Ars, Medas, La Pausa, Café Café, Natural Break, Divers, Caffriccio, Vinea, As Hotel, News & Books, Minimarket, Sibarium, Subway, Il Caffè di Roma, Starbucks, Burger King and Cañas y Tapas.
