ATÜ Duty Free reveals expanded new-look store at Milas-Bodrum Airport

TÜRKIYE. ATÜ Duty Free, the joint-venture between TAV Airports and Unifree Duty Free/Gebr. Heinemann, has officially unveiled an expanded and refurbished main duty-free store at Milas-Bodrum Airport.

The 1,900sq m departures floor store – which features travertine stone and wood details reflective of traditional Bodrum – has been redesigned as a walk-through concept for enhanced passenger flow.

The shop, which has furniture allowing for a flexible layout, now offers a much-increased global luxury brand mix. It features a wide range of products across the fashion & accessories, fragrances & cosmetics, toys, confectionery, spirits and tobacco categories.

The offer also includes a dedicated local and regional products section. This features a curated selection of traditional Turkish items such as Turkish Delight, coffee, olive oil and souvenirs unique to Bodrum and Türkiye.

A new era for duty free at Milas-Bodrum Airport has begun. The entrance to the expanded store is pictured above, with the new walk-through-style interior of the facility shown below.

ATÜ Duty Free said the concept, which features many sustainable elements, aligns to its commitment to environmental responsibility.

ATÜ Duty Free CEO Ersan Arcan commented: “We are delighted to launch our modernised duty-free store at Milas-Bodrum Airport, a key tourist destination in Türkiye. This new concept, implemented within a larger area, will benefit the airport and all local and foreign visitors. Our operational investment focused on creating a more comfortable and privileged shopping experience for visitors.

“With the busy summer season approaching, we are confident that the renewed store will be beneficial for the entire region. At ATÜ Duty Free, we remain committed to continuously raising the bar in travel retail across all our international and domestic operations, with ongoing investment in development.’’

ATÜ Duty Free noted TAV-operated Milas-Bodrum Airport has experienced significant passenger growth in the year to date. Some 525,000 passengers were served during the first four months of 2024, a +16% increase compared to the same period last year. ✈
