
TAIWAN, CHINA. Beam Suntory-owned distillery Auchentoshan is celebrating its bicentennial with the launch of a 24 Year Old bottling – its oldest single malt whisky yet.
In travel retail, the expression is exclusively available with Ever Rich Duty Free at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. The retailer has been allocated 774 bottles, each available for a recommended retail price of US$270.
Auchentoshan 24 Year Old undergoes triple distillation, followed by maturation in American bourbon and European oak sherry casks.
The expression features notes of gooseberries, green grapes, chocolate-covered almonds, raisins and honey.
Auchentoshan Distillery Manager Susan Williamson said: “[We have joined] a rare club of distilleries to reach their third century and it’s a testament to the quality and versatility of our whisky that the horizon looks so bright.
“We couldn’t let such a big birthday pass by without bottling something special, so this 24 Year Old is a nod to the past while raising a glass to the future.”
