Aveda opens Experience Center at Minneapolis-St Paul Airport

Leading botanical beauty and professional brand Aveda has partnered with HMSHost to open its first mainland US airport Experience Center, at Minneapolis-St Paul International.

Located in Terminal 1-Lindbergh, the Aveda Experience Center retail store is described as an airport oasis where travellers can both shop and relax by experiencing complimentary signature Aveda rituals specifically designed to tackle stress, and purchase hair care, skin care and body care products, in addition to specially designed travel sets.

To complement the opening, Aveda has created an iPad travel application available for use at its locations at Minneapolis-St Paul Airport and DFS Waikiki Galleria. The iPad application will be available in-store only and will help guests to find Aveda salons in travel destinations around the world. It will be available in English and Japanese. How-to videos, travel wellness tips, and other features will be added later this autumn.

The Aveda Experience Center retail environment aims to bring to life the company’s philosophy of connecting beauty, wellness and environmental awareness. The 800sq ft store features locally-manufactured display fixtures made from both reclaimed wood and sustainable bamboo. Wall panels have been constructed with rapidly-renewable coconut palm trees and feature two plant walls complete with live greenery.

All fixtures are designed to be aesthetically striking and true to Aveda’s philosophy of re-use and recycle to minimise waste. Aveda’s signature complementary Rituals of Renewal will be available to all store guests. Additional services will include Pre-flight, Inflight and Post-Flight Rituals, developed exclusively for travel retail locations, and complimentary skin and hair consultations.

“We are proud to open the first Aveda Experience Center in a US airport in our hometown of Minneapolis,” noted Aveda Vice President Retail Catherine Culotta. “Our goal is to create a truly unique, immersive brand experience for the traveller, and to transport guests to an oasis of relaxation in what can sometimes be a stressful environment.”

In keeping with its corporate Mission, Aveda purchases renewable energy credits for energy use associated with all Experience Centers in North America through NativeEnergy.
