Avianca set to close the year with record 38 million passengers

Avianca ends the year on a high note, achieving a key recovery milestone

COLOMBIA. Avianca is on track to close the year with record-breaking figures, carrying nearly 38 million passengers and adding 24 new routes to its portfolio.

The Columbian airline’s passenger numbers reflect a +27% growth from pre-pandemic 2019 levels and a +19% year-on-year rise, with a network spanning 167 routes across more than 25 countries.

Avianca expanded its network with eight additional destinations, attracting 14% of its passengers as first-time flyers with the airline this year.

These achievements underscore a business model focused on accessibility and connectivity, critical to economic growth, tourism and social development in Latin America, the company said.

The airline has introduced eight new destinations, including Paris, Chicago, Montreal, Caracas, Aeroparque (Buenos Aires), Havana, Quibdó and Arauca.

Looking ahead, Avianca noted its plans to continue extending its global reach, enhancing its business model and providing more air travel benefits to passengers in Latin America and around the globe. ✈
