Avolta captures seven-year duty-free contract at Macau International Airport

CHINA. Travel experience player Avolta has won a seven-year contract to manage duty free liquor & tobacco plus general merchandise stores at Macau International Airport from the second half of this year.

The space covers 600sq m across four commercial spaces in a new airport location for the company. It extends Avolta’s presence in Macau, where it has operated downtown stores at the Venetian and Parisian hotel hotspots respectively for 17 years.

The new stores are in the left and right piers in departures, and will showcase local and international brands, plus packaged favourite local delicacies and souvenirs.

Avolta said its presence will be supported by “innovative marketing activations, product launches, tasting events and digital technology,” adding that “the store designs will be meticulously crafted to reflect the unique heritage as well as the glamour of Macau, reinforcing the airport’s status as a top leisure destination for the region”.

Avolta President & CEO APAC Freda Cheung said: “We are excited to bring our expertise and passion for retail to Macau International Airport, where we aim to provide an unparalleled shopping experience, that matches the region’s dazzle. This expansion not only strengthens our footprint in Macau but also allows us to serve Macau’s tourists more holistically. We promise shopping experiences that are as delightful and memorable as the destination itself.”
