Global travel experience player Avolta was honoured with a series of awards during this year’s TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes.
The awards were welcomed in the same week that Avolta unveiled its Club Avolta loyalty programme, further validating the company’s strategic efforts to redefine the customer journey.
Leveraging intelligence gained from its global network of more than 5,000 outlets across 73 countries, Avolta said it is sharpening its focus on customer-centric solutions, digital transformation and integrated sustainability. Commenting on the recent awards, Rossinyol said: “What an honour to be recognised and celebrated across such a diverse range of categories and in such an important week for our industry. Alongside our traveller-centric strategy, these awards reflect the dedication, creativity and passion of our global teams, and I extend my heartfelt appreciation to our people today.
“We continue to strive for excellence, delivering innovative solutions and look forward to continuing to push boundaries and creating exceptional experiences for travellers worldwide.”
At the BW Confidential Beauty Awards, Avolta claimed the title of Beauty Retailer of the Year. BW Confidential Editor in Chief Oonagh Phillips commented: “Avolta was chosen for the award for the remarkable journey it has been on over the past five years, as well as for its resilience, its audacity, its vision and its new and creative approach to retailing today.”
Avolta was also named Global Travel Retail Operator ESG Champion at the Global Drinks Intel – ESG Awards 2024, celebrating the company’s leadership in environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices within the global travel retail space.
The group’s dedication to corporate responsibility and excellence was further highlighted at the Frontier Awards where it claimed two top honours. As the winner of the People & Planet Award for Sustainability, Avolta was recognised for its impactful partnership between World Duty Free and One Water, which aims to provide communities access to clean water.
One Water and The One Foundation Founder Duncan Goose said the award “recognises the exceptional work of all those at Avolta and World Duty Free who believe in what we are trying to do to help those that live without access to clean water”.
“My hope is that this award will bring attention not only to the team of people who make this all possible within Avolta, but the wider issue itself. It’s an incredible honour to be part of this journey that has already changed 5 million people’s lives.”
Avolta’s rapid response and community-focused initiatives in the wake of Morocco’s life-changing earthquake last year were recognised in the Team of the Year award.
Avolta was also highly commended as a Diversity & Inclusion Champion for its collaboration with PizzAut, an inspiring initiative championing inclusivity and opportunities for individuals with autism; and as Best New Duty Free Shop Opening, with Bengaluru Duty Free at Bangalore International Airport recognised for its innovative design and customer experience.
At TR Business’ Global Travel Retail Awards Avolta was a finalist for Best Charity Initiative 2024 for its collaboration with Pernod Ricard TR Americas on the Jameson Community Project, which supports local communities through meaningful, charitable contributions.
According to Avolta, these accolades “underscore Avolta’s position as an industry leader, dedicated to pioneering advancements in travel retail, sustainability and customer engagement”.
