HONG KONG, CHINA. Leading global travel experience player Avolta has opened two duty-free stores at the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal, following a successful tender bid late last year.
The departures and arrivals hall stores, branded Hong Kong Duty Free, offer a diverse range including liquor, tobacco and food. Local favourites and premium international brands are featured.
Avolta noted the openings expand the company’s presence in one of Greater China’s most popular tourist destinations.
Both a ferry terminal and heliport, the Hong Kong–Macau Ferry Terminal provides ferry services to Macau and cities in southern China.
Located in Sheung Wan, immediately to the west of the main business district on Hong Kong Island’s north store, the terminal forms part of the Shun Tak Centre, a commercial and transport hub. It attracts around seven million passengers each year.

Avolta Managing Director North Asia Jaswinder Singh said: “We are incredibly excited to expand our presence in China and serve the passengers of the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal. A key transit point for both local commuters and international travellers, our new shops are set to become a go-to destination for travellers seeking high-quality duty-free products as they embark on their journeys or return to Hong Kong.”
He added: “This opportunity allows us to showcase our commitment to making travellers happier in a dynamic and vibrant environment.” ✈
