Avolta’s debut Spanish airport F&B outlet gets off to flying start

SPAIN. Leading global travel experience player Avolta has reported its debut food & beverage outlet at a Spanish airport has served more than 105,000 travellers since it opened at the end of last year.

The Taberna Atlántica opening at Tenerife South Airport is a forerunner to its new commercial strategy in Spain, following the business combination of Dufry and Autogrill in 2023.

Avolta’s Taberna Atlántica has proved a popular addition to the F&B scene at Tenerife South Airport

The 170sq m outlet is located at the exit of the Avolta duty-free store between gates B31 and B34.

Taberna Atlántica offers a gourmet bar selection with cold beers, artisanal sandwiches, quality coffee and pastries.

In line with Avolta’s strategy to collaborate with key partners to offer the best experience to its travellers, Spain’s well-known Estrella Galicia beer is served at the bar, thanks to a partnership with the brewery.

The bar opening adds to Avolta’s five retail locations at Tenerife South Airport.

Avolta Spain CEO Ángeles Montesdeoca said: “The opening of Taberna Atlántica, our first gourmet bar outlet here in Spain, marks a significant moment for Avolta. With this opening, together with our partner Aena, we begin the travel experience revolution that the company is going to undertake in 2024 across all our airports in Spain.”  ‍
