BAA USA continues food & beverage expansion drive with new openings at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport – 06/08/09

The three new additions at Cleveland Hopkins Airport offer fare as diverse as fruit smoothies and meaty sandwiches

US. BAA Cleveland has opened three new food & beverage concepts at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.

Located in the Concourse C Food Court, the new additions began operating this week and offer fare as diverse as fruit smoothies and meaty sandwiches.

Bananas Smoothies & Frozen Yogurt is aimed at passengers looking for healthy alternatives. The unit serves fruit smoothies, frozen yogurt and a variety of healthy snacks.

Green Leaf’s”¦Beyond Great Salads features fresh tossed salads made to order, wraps, grilled panini sandwiches and hearty homemade soups.

McAlister’s Deli serves a combination of hearty deli fare, including sandwiches loaded with cold cuts, along with Southern-style Famous Sweet Tea.

“Our newest openings reaffirm BAA Cleveland’s commitment to providing high-quality dining options at “˜Regular Mall Prices”¦Guaranteed,’ a hallmark of the Airmall,” said BAA Cleveland President Mark Knight.

“The rapid transformation of concessions at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport – now and in the months and years ahead – is aimed at enhancing the passenger experience, and these new units will add to that ongoing effort,” he added.

“Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is proud of the ongoing efforts to develop our concessions program,” noted Airport Director Ricky Smith.

“Beyond being high-quality establishments, these latest additions to the Concourse C Food Court also offer an array of healthy options to travellers – from fresh-tossed salads and smoothies to low-fat subs. We know passengers will appreciate these new offerings.”

The City of Cleveland forged a 10-year contract with BAA Cleveland in February 2008 to develop and manage concessions at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.

The city anticipates that the airport’s new Airmall will double retail sales figures at Hopkins over a 10-year period, double the number of concession jobs and double the current participation rate of local and minority-owned companies.

When it is completed, the new Airmall at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport will occupy 76,000sq ft of retail space.
