GERMANY. To mark its 50th anniversary Babor has created a body and spa range aimed to bring ‘Wellness by Nature’ into cosmetic institutes, spas and domestic bathrooms.
BABOR BODY LINE THERMAL
Babor Body Line Thermal is said to have one outstanding feature: the active ingredients, which are unique to Babor, are all of natural origin and are completely new on the cosmetics market.
Zeolite, a volcanic mineral from the Eifel mountains, and elsberries, which are cultivated on Babor’s own plantations in the region, are combined with thermal spring water from the German city of Aachen – Babor’s headquarters – to create a threefold effect.
The complex, which is patent pending, is said to remineralise, drain and detox, as well as firm the skin.
The 14 products in the range include shower and body products, described as having an Asian flair for everyday use, hand and nail care products and special items for the bust and legs.
Eleven products are presented in a modern white and mother-of-pearl design with anthracite-colored lettering and a gold logo. The bottles have an elegant, feminine shape with rounded contours, and all come in a folding box. Mother-of-pearl dominates, while the pale grey sides of the box mirror the contours of the bottles or dispensers inside the packaging.
Three of the products belong to the Asian wellness range Babor ScenTao, which was launched in 2001, and has been modified to fit in with the design of the new products. Soft lime green and sand shades are the distinguishing characteristics, and there is also a gold logo. These three products – shower oil, body foam and body spray with Asian active ingredients such as ginkgo, green tea and ginseng – also have a well-defined, themed character.
