JAPAN. Bacardi Global Travel Retail has opened The Whisky Emporium as an immersive experience for travellers at Tokyo Narita International Airport Terminal 1, in partnership with leading travel retailer NAA Retailing.
The shop-in-shop features an interactive space to explore the Dewar’s blended Scotch whisky range alongside the worlds of single malts Aberfeldy, Royal Brackla and Aultmore.

A tasting bar and gifting area is a highlight, where whisky experts guide visitors through a curated selection of luxury whiskies including the limited-edition Aberfeldy 45 Year Old, the oldest release from the distillery to date, and Aberfeldy 25 Year Old 125th Anniversary Edition.
An interactive digital screen allows travellers to access deeper insights into each whisky’s story and craftsmanship. Illuminated display cabinets showcase the exceptional selection, with detailed tasting notes accompanying each bottle. Premium expressions are elegantly presented against evocative photography and illustrations representing each distillery.
Among the exclusive offerings at the Whisky Emporium are the recently launched Dewar’s Double Double 21 Year Old Stone Toasted expressions, finished in a Magma stone toasted American oak cask and French oak cask, as well as the collectable Dewar’s Double Double 37 Year Old, a blended malt finished in Oloroso sherry casks from the Aultmore distillery.

Bacardi said the opening is timely with the prestige-plus segment in whisky – priced above US$200 – projected to be the fastest-growing, with an estimated +18.5% CAGR between 2023-2028, according to IWSR 2024.
“We are thrilled to bring this new Whisky Emporium to Tokyo Narita, one of the world’s busiest travel hubs,” said Bacardi Global Travel Retail AMEA Regional Director Sam Pickard.
“With passenger numbers surging by +22% last year and Japan ranking as the seventh-largest whisky market globally, Narita is the ideal location for our latest whisky experience. This partnership with NAA Retailing Corporation allows us to engage whisky lovers in an exciting and meaningful way, offering them access to our premium portfolio while celebrating the artistry behind Dewar’s and our sublime range of single malts.” ✈
