Bacardi Global Travel Retail (GTR) has teamed up with Heinemann to execute a Bombay Sapphire promotion at the Tavern Tasting bar in Departures at Sydney Airport’s T1.
Running throughout November, the activation follows the launch of Star of Bombay with Heinemann at Sydney Airport earlier this year.
The tasting bar, which features the signature House of Bombay blue colour and graphics of the brand’s key ingredients, presents Bombay Sapphire’s entire range to consumers. Samplings on offer include Star of Bombay gin served over ice with a twist of orange and Fever Tree Indian Tonic Water, Bombay Sapphire served in a balloon glass and Bombay Sapphire East which is served with tonic and garnished with lemongrass.

Bacardi Global Travel Retail Regional Director Asia Pacific & MEA Irving Holmes Wong said: “With this shopper engagement, we are letting the power of this incredible brand do the talking. The simplicity of these serves enables shoppers to appreciate that “˜less is more’ and to see just how easy it is for them to create a perfect serve at home using quality glassware and the best ingredients to highlight the flavour intensity of the smooth and rich liquid.”
“As the category leader, and with Australia being a top market globally for House of Bombay, we are confidently best positioned to offer shoppers the ultimate gin and tonic,” added Holmes Wong.
Heinemann Australia Head of Categories Maik Nimrich added: “We’re excited to be running this highly engaging shopper activation in November, one of the busiest months of the year here at Sydney. The House of Bombay range is one of our leading spirit families in terms of sales and shopper appeal and so we are expecting positive results and feedback both across the range and with a halo impact on the entire gin category.”
Bombay Sapphire has also launched a limited edition Seasonal Gift Box and Bar Spoon Pack, said to emphasise the brand’s gifting appeal.
Bombay Sapphire is the world’s number one premium gin by value and the fastest-growing premium gin in the world, according to the International Wine and Spirit Research (IWSR).
