Bacardi Global Travel Retail has partnered with Heinemann for the exclusive launch of the Glen Deveron 24 Year Old finished in Super Tuscan Red Wine Casks, now available at the retailer’s stores in Europe and Asia Pacific.
The limited-edition single malt whisky (54.3% ABV) comes in a 70cl format within a wooden gift box at an RRP of €749.90 (US$805).
With only 198 bottles available, the 24 Year Old expression is the latest addition to the Exceptional Cask Series, a growing collection of rare single-cask bottlings, double-cask expressions and small-batch releases.
To mark this travel retail-exclusive launch, the retailer is running a quiz competition for its Heinemann & Me loyalty members from 1-31 May. Heinemann is giving away five sets of the Glen Deveron core range, comprising one bottle each of the brand’s 16 Year Old and 20 Year Old and a set of Glencairn glasses.
The single malt’s flavour profile is a result of its double-cask finish. It was first distilled in 1998 and has been matured in Super Tuscan casks since 2007, imparting the core Super Tuscan red wine characteristics. The whisky offers notes of fresh raspberry and juicy blackcurrant. Decadently sweet and rich, it is balanced with notes of orange citrus peel and a hint of cinnamon spice.

The Glen Deveron distillery lies on the rugged coast of north-east Scotland by the banks of the River Deveron. This coastal landscape sits within the Highland region for single malt whisky and is the most easterly of Scotland’s whisky distilleries.
