Bahrain Duty Free Chairman Abdulla Hassan Buhindi expects growth trends to continue

BAHRAIN. Bahrain Duty Free Shop Complex has reported a +9.7% year-on-year increase in net profit for the second quarter of 2025, reaching BD1.29 million (US$3.4 million).

The retailer’s income rose sharply by +189.5% to BD1.39 million (US$3.68 million) compared to the same period last year.

For the period ended 30 June, shareholders’ equity and total assets each fell -3.3%, with equity at BD42.05 million (US$111.5 million) and total assets at BD42.42 million (US$112.5 million).

Bahrain Duty Free Shop Complex Chairman of the Board Abdulla Hassan Buhindi noted that the results highlight Bahrain Duty Free Shop Complex’s resilience and adaptability amid economic challenges and a shifting market environment.

He attributed the +9.7% net profit growth in Q2 to three key drivers, including effective operational strategies, efficient cost management and the success of high-yield investments deployed in the recent period, all of which offset competitive conditions.

Looking ahead, Buhindi expressed optimism about the company’s continued positive performance, citing the team’s commitment, ongoing innovation and focus on objectives. He added that Bahrain Duty Free will pursue new growth opportunities to reinforce its position in the commercial sector.
