Balblair claims ‘Best Design & Packaging’ title at ISC 2010

Balblair scooped the inaugural Best Design & Packaging title at the ISC 2010 awards

UK. Balblair Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is celebrating success after scooping the inaugural Best Design & Packaging accolade at the International Spirits Challenge (ISC) 2010.

Competing against leading brands within the Design & Packaging category, the prize was presented at an awards dinner on 8 November.

The annual International Spirits Challenge awards brand owners and their suppliers for high quality products and innovative packaging.

Balblair was redesigned in 2007 to reflect a move to a more premium position and to launch exclusively vintage expressions. The rich history of the distillery location was used to influence the packaging and highlight the area’s link with ancient Scottish race, the Picts.

The judges deemed Balblair’s classic premium packaging “superb” and praised its distinctive bottle and design.

Balblair Brand Manager Andy Hannah said: “We are delighted to receive such a highly respected award in recognition of our innovative packaging. Travel retail is a vital channel for Balblair as it gives us fantastic international reach and profile.

“We look forward to building on this success and exploring further opportunities to continue the brand’s impressive development in the travel retail sector in 2011.”

Since its relaunch in 2007, Balbair has gained listings in travel retail and duty free retailers across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Balblair was successfully introduced into Scandinavian-Baltic Duty Free retail operations for the first time this year.
