Ballantine’s brings a ‘Taste of Christmas’ to Paris Charles de Gaulle

The Ballantine’s Christmas Reserve 2012

Pernod Ricard Travel Retail has launched the limited edition Ballantine’s Christmas Reserve 2012 exclusively in European travel retail with Aelia.

Whisky drinkers are being encouraged to try the new Christmas edition or to trade up through the “˜Taste of Christmas’ promotion that is running this month in Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.

The campaign features wintery white merchandising displays and eye-catching sampling tables. Hostesses are on hand to mix a festive Christmas cocktail -“˜Ballantine’s Clementine Bauble’ – and interact with consumers, handing out cocktail booklets and providing them with more information about the product and the brand.

Additionally, passengers are invited to try out a Ballantine’s Christmas Reserve sensory table featuring test tubes of the different “˜notes’ of Ballantine’s Christmas Reserve. Consumers can smell the individual elements of the whisky which include raisins, apples, caramel toffee and ripe pear.

“Ballantine’s Christmas Reserve is the perfect festive whisky with a rich abundance of flavours and fragrances designed to create a Christmas experience,” said Pernod Ricard Travel Retail Europe Assistant Brand Manager Adriana Perez.

“Whether buying for personal use or gifting, it is the ideal winter warmer. Our partnership with Aelia in Charles de Gaulle Airport is the perfect opportunity to bring a Christmas spirit to the terminals and to encourage passengers to indulge in a beautifully crafted Ballantine’s Christmas Reserve clementine cocktail,” Perez added.

Launched in 2010, the Ballantine’s Christmas Reserve contains the “˜fingerprint’ malts of Miltonduff and Glenburgie in a liquid that is said to provide “an original alternative to traditional whisky blends at Christmas”.
