Bally opts for functionality and comfort in Spring Summer 2014 collection

Highlights from Bally’s Spring Summer 2014 collection include a pair of women’s court shoes designed for rainy weather, as well as new travel jackets and penny loafers for both men and women.

The new Travel Jacket is made from Bally’s pioneering water-resistant “˜Techno Suede’, which has been treated with a special Teflon tanning system that makes the suede resistant to water and spills, including rain showers, drizzle, tropical humidity and even red wine or coffee.

In addition, the process enhances the natural silky smoothness of the leather and makes it more flexible and durable, according to the brand. The result is a travel jacket that can be packed and unpacked without developing creases.

Hand-filled with the finest quality goose down, the super-soft, ultra-lightweight jacket is designed to keep wearers warm and dry when they are on the road from spring to early summer.

The garment and its matching pouch come in a range of shades including Racing Red, Night Race Blue, Mountain Mud and Buff Sand.

The SS2014 men’s “˜Tour de Bally’ collection, drawing inspiration from cycling in all its styles, revolves around three distinct “˜moods’: the City Biker, the Cross-Country and the Racer.

The City Biker, in particular, is said to reflect the relaxed elegance of a businessman cycling round town. Key elements include the Premier collection of footwear featuring a derby, a monk strap and a new-look Penny Loafer – all constructed with a newly designed last in brushed spazzolato box calf leather with Bally’s premier Goodyear sole. The loafer comes lined with cotton silk twill in a wide range of distinctive colour combinations including Bitter Brown & White and Navy & White.

For SS2014, Bally adds the Penny Loafer to its “˜Borrowed from the Boys’ collection – a range of women’s footwear directly inspired by the men’s Goodyear welted constructions. It is available in two-tone, featuring a white insert, or alternatively as tone-on-tone in classic colour ways of Black, Navy, Cognac, or Brown.

Also new for women is the Rain Heels line of striking, modern court shoes designed for wet weather. Featuring a splash-proof rubberised leather upper, complemented by a tone-on-tone rubber sole, the Rain Heels are available in a range of bold primary colours.
