Bangalore International Airport Limited seeks digital partner for Kempegowda Airport

INDIA. Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) is seeking a contractor to manage the digital marketing of its operations at Kempegowda International Airport.

BIAL said that it is looking for a digital solutions partner to implement a platform with a suite of applications that allows it to engage with its passengers and deploy dynamic content.

This represents a major opportunity at an airport which was recently rated as the second fastest-growing airport in the world in terms of passenger growth by RoutesOnline. It recorded 15,850,352 passengers during the first six months of 2018, more than 4.1 million higher than the corresponding period last year.

Bangalore International Airport Limited seeks a digital partner to help it engage with travellers, and complement its strong consumer offer in the airport with digital services.

BIAL Chief Operating Officer Javed Malik, said that the partner could help to “enable digital content to build unique passenger experiences, that all contribute towards delivering the most memorable ground experience”.

He told The Moodie Davitt Report that the tender was a global opportunity, with companies outside of India welcome to bid for the contract. Malik added that the tender has not yet been published but will be due out “within the next four weeks”.

Kempegowda is India’s third-busiest airport by passenger traffic, behind Delhi and Mumbai. A second runway is being constructed and is expected to be operational by September 2019. A second terminal is also under construction.
